Key Moments

The main events that launched our path in home design, characterised by the constant search for new processes and experiences.

2009

2009 | Welcome Angels

“Welcome Angels” is the first major expression of architecture and design in a quarry, organised by Paolo Armenise & Silvia Nerbi. It was a unique event that brought design into the “hard” heart of the Apuan quarries.

Sacro profano

So silence, marble speaks.

The grandeur that marble has always created increased at its best for one night, giving us an unforgettable show in the heart of one of the quarries in the Gioia basin.

2010 | Vaso Primavera

Bianco Carrara marble was used for this majestic urban furnishing vase, bringing us back to the concept of an original, almost archetypal stone. This vase, made in Bianco Carrara marble, is signed by the designer Angelo Micheli. In this vase, tradition and innovation approach the theme of macro and the language of architecture.

2011 | ‘zero’ by snøhetta e paoloarmenise+silvianerbi

This project consists of an empty 5x5 meters marble cube. The external part has simple and sharp edges, the walls surface is rough with no finishes whereas inside everything softens, the edges become rounded, the walls get smooth, and the lines of the floor turn sinuous becoming seats. This is an architecture made to be crossed, stopping for a while to indulge in a thought.

2011 | Miniature by paoloarmenise+sivianerbi

This project is characterised by a basic and minimal design that highly enhances the uniqueness of the material. It aims to recall nature using marble in all its purity. Shapes and proportions are the protagonists of these vases created in a mini version from the original macro version.

2012 | One - Into the void

This project consists in the overlapping of thicknesses of 100 mm, by forming one marble block 4.8m long, 2.8m wide and 2.8m high. The slight colour and weaving change created by the horizontal layout celebrates the natural weaving of Carrara quarries.

2013 | Ovum by Michele Cazzani

The “Ovum” tub has an organic shape. It is intended as a tribute to what nature is able to create. Thus, a concept of microspace develops, in which it is possible to relax and plunge in. So, it is not an object conceived as an end in itself.

2015 | Unica by Michele Cazzani

The design concept is based on the desire to create an architecture that is both container and content, and that can conceal within the most close and special objects. It is a refined architectural symbol made of the famous Calacatta marble.

2015 | Erodescape by Kengo Kuma

This installation challenges the idea of thinness applicable to the marble obtainable through stone cutting. This work recalls the erosion of the environmental factors such as water and wind that over time shape the natural landscapes.

2017 | Scrapy by Michele Cazzani

The concept behind the project of the Scrapy small table is to use stone processing waste, giving it the right artistic dignity. It is made of Cipollino marble and rough brass that interrupted by Cipollino slabs, creates a single solid element.

2019 | Volo by Eugenio Biselli

Solidity and lightness. It is a thin and almost ethereal sculptural table that enhance the beauty of its elements. With the Calacatta Franchi counter, the Volo table can reach up to 3m in length (h 76cm). The legs can be two-tone or monochrome and are enriched with a zinc-coated bridge.

2019 | Matisse armchair by Eugenio Biselli

It is characterised by a fluid shape and a rich substance. This represents the perfect mix and match between Statuario Franchi, brass and aluminium enclosed in an armchair with a decisive personality. It is not only sumptuous and architectural but also enchanting.

2019 | Sharawaggi by Cino Zucchi

Sharawaggi represents a petrified garden-wood consisting of many stone stems inspired by the “Endless Column” by Brancusi. Every column is made up of several modular elements that can be used both in partitions and in “porous” marble and stone walls.

Giuseppe Venuta

2019 | Montenapoleone District "LEONARDO DA VINCI. A VISION OF A GENIUS"

The designer Giuseppe Venuta reproduced the Vitruvian Man leant against a cortem totem. To do this, he used the most precious white Carrara marble, the Stuatuario, and with the mediation of this invaluable material he recreated an ideal dialogue between the two artists.
